Renewable Energy

Renewable energy is the energy generated from naturally replenishable sources Solar, Wind, Rain, and Snow as well as by recycling waste materials like Biomass, Industrial Waste, Bagasse, etc.

Today we are seeing the results of indiscriminate and massive exploitation of earth’s resources like fossil fuels for the last 60+ years. We are facing unpredictable climate changes, flash floods, cyclones so often due to the global warming caused by the use of fossil fuels and ever increasing CO2 emissions. International Energy Agency predicts that by 2030, CO2 emissions will increase to 40 billion tonnes. This is 55% increase in CO2 emissions and 40% of these emissions are coming from electricity production alone. Globally the energy sector alone produces about 41% of emissions. This is primarily due to the man’s indiscriminate exploitation of fossil fuel energy sources.

Now everyone has better understanding on the importance of renewable energy sources like Solar, Wind, Rain, Biomass and how these can be used as alternatives to fossil fuels. Around the world government and private agencies are working together to find better technologies to covert renewable resources into power and fuel. With these new technologies and nature’s unlimited renewable sources we can reduce our dependence on fossil fuels.

Increasing demand for energy, climate change concerns, depleting fossil fuel sources, and high oil prices are the fundamental forces that are driving the transition towards renewable energy. Now government is supporting the transition to renewable energy by supporting energy legislation, regulation, polices and incentives for commercialization of new technologies.
